Huston is a lead specialty practice pharmacist in the clinical trials unit at . in Columbus, Ohio. In this position, he prepares βinvestigational products as part of various randomized, single and double blind and placebo controlled studies from major medical research and development firms to dose subjects participating in various phases of drug development.β
Huston also works for as the director of pharmacy practice lab and is an associate professor of pharmacy practice. In January 2021, he was appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine as a member of the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, with his first term ending in 2024.
Before his current positions, Huston was an assistant professor at and the lead specialty practice pharmacist at .
The most rewarding experiences of Hustonβs career have been serving through medical missions. βI have led 24 medical missions trips with the , taking interprofessional teams of nursing and pharmacy students to Choluteca, Honduras, serving those with limited access to healthcare,β said Huston.
Huston believes Shenandoah prepared him for his career by giving him a strong foundation to better serve others through healthcare and the profession of pharmacy.
Hustonβs advice to students is: βTackle one day at a time as looking too far ahead can be overwhelming.β
