βI owe SU, more than I could ever say,β states Heidi Sales β12. Β βAttending school for those two years was some of the best times of my life. I gained a confidence Iβd never had before and I carry it with me still. I became friends with a professor who guided me through the crazy process of applying to graduate school. I couldnβt have done it without her.β
ΛΔ»’Σ°ΚΣ was Sales school of choice for the simple fact that it was so close to home. She realized quickly that Shenandoah was the school for her and the best choice she could have made. At SU, Sales learned how to become better at her craft as an English major.
With the help of the education she obtained at SU, Sales is now an established author. She writes books for young adults. She has published two books on her own, and is currently working on a third with an agent. Some of the most rewarding experiences she has had so far in her career are meeting new authors and attending book conventions, as well as many of the other positives of working in the book industry.
Sales advice to students is: βNever stop writingβ¦or reading. There are a lot of rejections to experience, but as any author will tell you, itβs part of the process. I canβt stress it enoughβ¦NEVER GIVE UP.β
