Marcus Jenkins β16 chose Shenandoah because of the football program and the student-to-faculty ratio. βI chose SU because of the class sizes, it felt more personable rather than just being a number,β said Jenkins.
Some of Jenkinsβ fondest memories at Shenandoah include playing on the football team, having night games at Shentel Stadium and meeting some of his lifelong friends.
Jenkins is the tickets sales & hospitality coordinator for the where he originally started as an intern. Some of Jenkinsβ responsibilities as a coordinator are finding the right solution for clientsβ needs and working with individuals and key decision makers for companies. He also sells a full menu of products, including PSLs (season tickets), hospitality tent packages and group outings.
Prior to the Ravens, Jenkins was the account manager for the , which is a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft League.
One of the most rewarding experiences in Jenkinsβ career so far was working with a youth football league on a fundraiser. The ticket sales from the game were used to raise money for their league. Jenkins was also able to get the league in the pregame tunnel for the Ravensβ player introductions.
Jenkinsβ Shenandoah education prepared him for his career by teaching him time management skills and discipline. βManaging football and a daily class schedule instilled discipline, time management and it was a good networking tool,β Jenkins said. βMost if not all of my sports management classes felt more like an open discussion.β
Jenkinsβ advice to current and future students is: βVolunteer for anything and everything. Any experience is a good experience. Be a sponge. Itβs not about who you know, it’s about who knows about you.β
